Marathon course changes to avoid the bridge works
This year's route loops through the park twice instead of crossing the river.
The Alder Valley Marathon will not cross the river this year. Organizers redrew the route to loop through Founders Park twice while the main bridge is under repair.
The new course is flatter, with one short climb near the reservoir. Organizers expect faster times and have added a second water station in the park.
Road closures start at six on race morning and end by two in the afternoon. The full list of closed streets is posted at the town hall.
