Rowing club takes the regional title
The junior eight finished two seconds ahead of the field on a windy course at Lake Harlow.
The Alder Valley Rowing Club won the junior eights at the regional championship on Saturday, its first title in the event in eleven years.
A crosswind slowed every crew on the back half of the course. The Alder boat held its line and passed the leaders with four hundred meters to go.
Six of the eight rowers return next season. The club will hold an open session for new juniors on the last Sunday of the month.
