Repair cafe opens at the community center
Volunteers will help fix phones, lamps and small appliances on the first Saturday of each month.
A repair cafe opened at the community center on Saturday, where volunteers help residents fix broken electronics and household items for free.
On the first day volunteers worked on thirty items, from a cracked phone screen to a toaster that would not stay down. About two thirds left working.
The organizers are looking for volunteers who can solder or sew. Parts are at cost; the labor is free.
